Người đàn ông 59 tuổi đã bị bắt sau nhiều báo cáo là đã có hành vi đuổi theo đám đông và vung vẩy hung khí.
Người đàn ông này hiện đang bị thẩm vấn sau khi bị bắt giữ.
BTP cho biết không có thương vong và sự vụ trên cũng không có liên quan đến khủng bố.
Tulse Hill station: Man ‘brandishing machete’ arrested
(BBC) - A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder amid reports a suspect was seen wielding "a massive machete" at a railway station in south London.
Police were called to Tulse Hill station during evening rush hour just after 18:30 GMT, British Transport Police (BTP) said.
Witnesses described the station going into "chaos" and people screaming before police Tasered a man.
A 59-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
Officers swooped on the suspect and pinned him to the floor before arresting him.
He had earlier reportedly been seen brandishing the weapon and chasing people in what some described as a "terrifying incident", BTP said there were no reported injuries and the suspect has been taken into custody for questioning.
The incident was not believed to be terror-related, it added.
